1940s Grape Cluster Dress Clip
A cluster of Grapes suspended from Vine Leaves that captures the decadence of the 1940s. The leaves are formed from a textured, Goldtone metal with darker areas having been used to emphasise the details. The Grapes are simple circular shapes in a soft sheen, Gold coloured finish. I think the material used for the both Grapes and clip is a form of hard plastic, rather than metal. The reverse of the clip features a hinged metal section, the underside incorporates six short prongs (to securely attach it to fabric). Its facing side has been inscribed with a scrollwork pattern. A wonderful embellishment on a pocket, evening bag or belt. A Betsy Best!
Please note: The metal hinged section shows clear signs of age and wear but it does not detract the loveliness of this dress clip. There are also small spots on the backs on two of the Grapes and on one of the Grapes on the front. These are not visible when the clip is worn.
