1920s/1930s Red Stone Brooch
This unusual brooch appeals for its sparkling Red and bold faceted Glass stones. The metalwork has textured patterns with floral details and curling scrollwork. The brooch displays a slender outline and is formed from a horizontal metal section, that is edged above and below by a curving metal bar. Set onto the metal are circular Red stones, the largest of which provides a focal point at the centre of the brooch. All the stones are firmly prong held to their settings and their shimmering red tones contrast with the deep goldtone appearance of the metal. The reverse side of the brooch reveals metal with a smooth and unembellished finish and the clasp is a "Safety Pin" type.
Please note: The reverse side of the brooch has a minor degree of wear to the surface of the metal and the goldtone finish of the clasp pin has been rubbed over time but the clasp itself is robust and it closes securely.
